France, a faience glazed earthenware Art Nouveau jardinière dating from about 1910–1920, 35 cm wide by 14 cm deep by 14 cm high, with a cream exterior decorated with polychrome flowers and a raspberry-pink glazed interior, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Elegant antique Art Nouveau faience jardinière, dating from approximately 1900–1915.
The elongated sculptural body has a beautifully flowing, organic outline characteristic of the Art Nouveau period and stands on small integrated feet. The cream-coloured exterior is decorated with attractive polychrome flowers and foliage in burgundy-red, yellow and green, complemented by warm brown, green and ochre accents along the moulded rim.
The interior is particularly striking, finished in a rich raspberry-pink glaze that softly graduates into the lighter body colour.
The piece displays an attractive overall craquelure/crazing to the glaze, consistent with its age and type of ceramic. The underside is unmarked, and therefore no specific manufacturer is attributed.
A highly decorative early-20th-century Art Nouveau jardinière, attractive as a floral centrepiece, planter or standalone decorative object.
Will be sent by registered mail.
