Description from the seller
This is a splendid ceramic sculpture depicting a snow leopard (or a spotted leopard in a lighter variant), crafted in a style that recalls the great tradition of Italian artistic ceramics from the mid-20th century.
And here is a detailed description of the work:
Aesthetic Characteristics
Subject and Pose: The animal is depicted in a regal and vigilant seated pose. The body is slender, with the tail gracefully curling around the base of the hind legs. The gaze looks upward and slightly to the side, giving the statue a proud and almost human expression.
Coloration and Decoration: The coat features a glossy ivory-white background speckled with circular black spots of varying sizes that imitate the natural pattern of the feline. Finer details are noticeable on the muzzle and around the blue eyes, which add depth to the gaze.
Material and Finish: It is glazed ceramic fired to a high-fire. The finish is extremely glossy, creating vivid reflections of light on the animal’s muscular curves, accentuating its dynamic realism despite the static pose.
