Description from the seller

Silver triptych reliquary formed of three linked reliquary medallions representing the Theological Virtues – 19th century - Italy

Rare silver triptych reliquary, composed of three oval medallions joined in an openwork mount. The frames are richly worked with scrolls, volutes and relief foliage.

Each medallion, protected by a pane of glass, contains several relics arranged on a fabric background and accompanied by handwritten Latin labels. Notably, mentions of Saint John the Baptist, Saint Peter the Apostle, Saint Paul the Apostle, Saint James the Greater, and Saint Louis IX, as well as other saints whose inscriptions are more difficult to read.

The reverse sides, particularly decorative, feature three religious scenes in relief, depicting allegorical female figures that may evoke the Theological Virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity.

Work probably European from the 19th century, in the Baroque taste.

Good overall condition considering its age
Several tituli are displaced and no longer seem to occupy their original positions.
One pane of glass is cracked.. Signs of use and age are visible.

The photos are an integral part of the object's description and complement its presentation. Please examine them carefully before any commitment
