Description from the seller
Papal Apostolic Blessing – Pius XI (1922-1939)
Rare document of Catholic devotion, richly illuminated, featuring a photographic portrait of Pope Pius XI, accompanied by a personalized apostolic blessing granted to “Marguerite Schwertfeger and her family.”
The document is adorned with historiated, polychrome initials, papal arms, and an important dry seal of the Vatican. The text grants the apostolic blessing as well as the plenary indulgence in articulo mortis (at the hour of death), according to the official formula then in use.
Signed by Carolus Pansoni, bishop and officer of the Roman Curia, with a handwritten note dated 11 April 1920. Preserved old gold frame.
Good overall condition, with minor signs of use consistent with age.
The photos are an integral part of the item's description and complement its presentation. They allow one to appreciate its state and features. Please examine them carefully before any engagement.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
Happy bidding
