Philips BX380A tabletop valve radio in a bakelite cabinet, built circa 1948, dimensions 40 cm wide by 17 cm deep by 25 cm high, weight 6.08 kg, in good physical condition and tested and functional, one unit with no extras.

Description:
Beautiful and authentic Philips BX380A table-top tube radio from 1948. This iconic post-war model is executed in a streamlined, dark brown bakelite housing with the well-known Philips emblem on the front.
A striking and characteristic feature of this type is the prominent, crystal-clear station scale with gold-colored details and the unique conspicuous tuning knob. The scale lists historical European cities and stations (such as Hilversum, London, Brussels, Berlin and Warszawa).
The device features an original fabric mains lead with an authentic plug.

Visual: In very nice vintage condition with normal, light age-related signs of use. The bakelite case is intact, without cracks or missing parts. The station scale is well legible and the knobs are present.
Technical: The radio powers on and emits a crackling sound from the speaker, but currently receives no stations signal (an external wire antenna may be required or the AM bands may need fine-tuning/maintenance). Sold as a working/crackling condition as a beautiful decorative object, for restoration or collection, or for conversion into, for example, a Bluetooth radio.
