General Description
Magnificent and large circular bronze basin with cloisonné enamel in an imperial style, dating from the Qing dynasty. The work rests on an elegant, custom-made carved and pierced wooden stand.
The basin heart is richly decorated with a powerful facing five-clawed dragon (a symbol strictly reserved for the Emperor and the imperial family), its sinuous body enamelled in yellow and gold. It lunges after the flaming sacred pearl (a symbol of wisdom and spiritual energy), enamelled in blue and coral at the center. The basin's bottom is lined with a dense network of stylized clouds (Ruyi) on a black background.
The reverse of the piece is just as refined, adorned with wave motifs, turquoise foaming waves, and gold clouds on a lacquered or black textured enamel background.
The Reign Mark
On the reverse, a square blue enamel plaque in relief presents the four-character honorific or dating mark: “乾隆年造” (Qianlong Nian Zao - Made under the reign of Qianlong), inscribed in fine gilding.

Condition Report
Objects in generally good condition for its age, showing a small loss of material indicated by an arrow in the photos. Some micro-lacunae of enamel natural (firing pits), slight wear to the gilding on the edges and on the cloison wires, characteristic of antique pieces. No major damage or structural restoration to report. Comes with the round custom wooden stand in good condition.
