Vintage Worcester Ware steel waste bin from the 1950s, made in the United Kingdom, 22 cm wide, 22 cm deep, 28 cm high, in good condition with minor signs of aging and spots.
Description from the seller
Vintage trash can with wild ducks.
Produced in the 1950s by the English company Worcester Ware.
'TWorcester Ware' was a trademark of The Metal Box Company Limited, based at Providence Street in Worcester. The factory was established in the 1850s by the Irish tinsmith William Blizzard Williamson as a sheet metalworking company, producing tin cans and canned goods. The company was appointed by His Majesty King George VI as a supplier of household goods.
In the early 1950s the company continued producing metal packaging for other retailers, but also diversified by designing its own range of lithographed aluminium and tin-plated metal articles under the brand name 'Worcester Ware'. These products were showcased during the Festival of Britain in 1951. 'Worcester Ware' continued producing lithographed tin items throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Unfortunately sales declined due to rising production costs and competition from abroad. Production was halted and the factory was demolished in November 1970.
This lot has been carefully cleaned and will be carefully packed, sent by registered mail and insured (with a Track & Trace code so you can track the shipment). Pickup in (Ridderkerk, South Holland) is also possible. I have delicious freshly ground coffee.
