Description from the seller

Boards with original dustwrappers, profusely illustrated.

"Kishō Kurokawa; Nagoya, 8 april 1934 - 12 oktober 2007) was a Japanese architect and one of the founders of Metabolism.
Kurokawa graduated in 1957 from Kyoto University in architecture. He continued his studies at the University of Tokyo, among others with Kenzo Tange, and earned his PhD in 1964.
With a number of colleagues he founded a movement in 1960 whose members were known as the Metabolists. It was a radical Japanese avant-garde movement that propagated mixing and recycling of architectural styles around an Asian philosophy. The movement was successful, with its apex the appreciation for the Takara Beautillion at the 1970 World Exposition in Osaka. Shortly thereafter the movement collapsed. The architect preferred to call himself a philosopher.
Kurokawa is the founder and director of Kisho Kurokawa Architect & Associates, founded on 8 April 1962. The firm has its headquarters in Tokyo, and branches in Osaka, Nagoya, Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Beijing (China)." (source: wiki)
