Here is a prestigious, fascinating and historically monumental 35mm rangefinder camera from a high-end collection: the Canon II-S2 (Model 2S2) Rangefinder, produced in Japan by Canon Camera Company Inc. in Tokyo between 1954 and 1956.
The lot is presented in good overall condition and is functional.
Optics: The camera mounts the extraordinary, renowned and bright original Canon Serenar 50mm f/1.9 lens. The lenses are in excellent preservation condition, clean, transparent and completely free of mold, fungi or deep scratches.
Mechanical: The lot has been tested and is mechanically functional in manual operation.
Aesthetics: Good vintage overall condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The solid and sturdy metal body preserves a superb visual impact, displaying its original satin chrome finish that shows a historic patina and the classic, normal signs of surface wear from handling along the external metal profiles.
