An oak dining table in Contemporain style, rectangular and extendable by one metre, measuring 158 cm by 96 cm with a height of 76 cm, dating to 1960–1970 and in good condition with some wear and staining from age.

Large extendable dining table in oak, carved, in Louis XV / Régence style – 20th century
Description:
Elegant and sturdy rectangular dining table in Louis XV / Régence style in oak, complemented by beautiful marquetry/parquetry on the tabletop and rich carvings on the frieze and the pedestal. It stands out for its ornate carved decoration and its ingenious one-meter extension system.
Top and frieze:
Top marquetry with geometric checkerboard motifs / Versailles parquet, framed by a carved frieze with a twisted or gadrooned motif.
Upper crosspiece shaped and adorned with a large rocaille shell carved at the center.
Pedestal:
Rests on four Cabriole-style curved legs carved with acanthus at the shoulders and ending in substantial ball-and-claw feet.
Origin and Period:
Period: Second half of the 20th century (circa 1960–1980).
Origin probable: France or Belgium (traditional oak massif construction in rustic chic style).
