Frame - Wood

Coffer frame in ebony-stained wood and partly gilded, dating to around 1870, characterized by a dark molding with gilded inner profiles. This type of artifact is located predominantly in the central Italy geographical area (with strong diffusion in Tuscany and Rome), but similar specimens are also closely linked to the production of Northern Italy (in particular in the Emilia and Veneto areas). While models from Central Italy often have sober and elegant geometric lines, the variants produced in Emilia or Veneto tend to feature more elaborate moldings or light carved decorations (such as small foliate or geometric elements). Prospective buyers are invited to view the photos carefully in order to avoid complaints and disputes.
