5 Leva commemorative coin minted in 1976 by the People's Republic of Bulgaria to commemorate the centennial of the April Uprising of 1876, one of the most significant events in the Bulgarian struggle for liberation from Ottoman rule. The obverse depicts a revolutionary figure holding a flag, a symbol of the insurgent movement, accompanied by the commemorative inscription and the date 1876. The design stands out for its symbolic strength and for the detailed handling of the folds of the clothing and the patriotic attributes. The reverse shows the state coat of arms of the People's Republic of Bulgaria surrounded by the national legend, along with the denomination of 5 Leva and the issue date. The surfaces feature an extraordinary proof-like finish, with deeply mirrored fields that contrast intensely with the frosted reliefs, creating a high-quality visual effect. The condition is exceptional, with minimum defects perceptible even under magnification, fully in line with the outstanding PF68 grade. This issue is part of the prestigious Bulgarian commemorative series dedicated to fundamental episodes of the national history and constitutes a tribute to the events that contributed to the revival of the modern Bulgarian state.
