Description from the seller

Rarest Monumental Porcelain Service from Limoges / KPM Germany (77 Pieces) - Late 19th / Early 20th Century
Splendid and exceptionally rich table service from the period, composed of 76 pieces, characterized by timeless elegance and a fascinating history that unites the excellence of French Limoges porcelain with German manufacturing mastery. Each piece is made in finely worked white porcelain with delicate relief work and fine radial ribs. The edges are elegantly shaped, scalloped, and superbly finished with a pure gold profile. The decoration features a magnificent multicolored band in perfect Art Nouveau / Neoclassical style, characterized by sinuous blue-azure scrolls, gilded details, and romantic floral garlands in pink and fuchsia tones. The set testifies to the historical collaborations between the great European manufactories of the early 1900s. The prestigious serving pieces bear the crude impression of the famous French mark T&H (Théodore Haviland, Limoges), guaranteeing the paternity and superb quality of the original ceramic bodies. The plates bear the green under-glass mark KPM Germany (Krister Porzellan-Manufaktur) from the period 1904-1927, applied during the integrations and period decorations carried out in Germany to keep this imposing set always complete and impeccable. Unlike common antique sets, this one boasts the extraordinary and rare presence of no less than 38 dinner plates, offering unbeatable flexibility for grand entertaining. The serving pieces accompaniment is monumental and includes pairs of tureens, pairs of sauce boats with their original rare porcelain spoons still intact, epergnes, and a magnificent range of six coordinating oval trays. The service is in generally excellent condition for its era, with glossy decors and gold well preserved. For utmost accuracy, note a small nick on the edge of the vegetable dish and some inevitable signs of time or micro-fractures (“capello”) on a very few pieces, entirely normal and tolerated in porcelains over a century old. An additional round serving plate (broken) is gifted for study of the stamps and is not counted among the 76 intact pieces. A ceramic art work of the highest level, perfect both as a precious investment for collectors and for setting dream tables capable of enchanting guests.
