Pair of solid wood, standing wall mirrors with elaborately carved torciglione fretwork and shell crest, glass panes with incisions, external dimensions 51 by 28 cm and depth 5 cm, estimated period 1850–1900.
Description from the seller
Pair of solid wood, free-standing mirrors.
Scenographic and beautiful in form, the frames feature an undulating, multi-curved profile, and their focal point is a prominent, richly carved pediment with a floral motif and a shell-like stylization (palmette) with deep radial fluting that creates a strong play of light and shadow.
At the base of the shell, two opposing acanthus-scroll volutes elegantly connect the pediment to the rest of the structure.
The entire perimeter of the mirror is enclosed by a dense rope-work or "rope-braid" pattern, executed with regular, oblique, rounded carvings. This continuous ornament gives dynamism and volume to the frame, encasing the mirror.
The finish is a dark patina that over time has developed charming warm tones.
The perfect symmetry of the two elements offers extraordinary versatility in styling, making them ideal both for completing rooms in a historical style and as sophisticated contrasting elements in contemporary interior design projects.

They will be shipped carefully packed and insured.
NB. Being antique objects, there may be cracks, stains, small missing parts, signs of age. Please examine the photos closely.
