Description from the seller
Splendid and expansive collection lot gathered with sacred art and devotional objects, ideal for collectors, genre enthusiasts, or vintage markets. The items range from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, all in excellent conservational condition or with the charm of their original patina.
The lot comprises a total of over 100 pieces distributed as follows:
- WALL CRUCIFIXES: one in worked wood and metal (Baroque style, early 1900s) with a cartouche INRI and a skull symbol (Golgotha) at the base. The second crucifix in bronze/brass alloy (popular/folk style, 18th-19th century) with a fluttering parchment scroll and the original patina of the time.
- NECKLACE ROSARIES: a vintage rosary with Aurora Borealis faceted glass beads showing iridescent reflections and a gilded metal chain. A contemporary rosary with a minimalist monochrome design, with white and translucent beads and cross.
- GOLD-PLATED COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, with the saint’s portrait finely worked in relief.
- SERIES OF VINTAGE POSTCARDS dedicated to the Shrine of Lourdes, depicting the basilicas, the historic night torchlight processions, and the Grotto of Massabielle.
- WIDE COLLECTION OF HOLY CARDS AND SACRED IMAGERY: from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th, including rare mourning keepsakes (R.I.P.), lithographs of the Mater Dolorosa and historical religious attestations (e.g., Easter Communion). Dozens of modern and vintage holy cards with iconographies of the Sacred Heart, Rosa Mystica, Saint Jerome Emiliani, and Blessed Luigi Tezza.
