Description from the seller
A. Lanternier & Cie, Limoges
18-piece floral-patterned table service
circa 1920–1930
Elegant antique Limoges porcelain dinner service by A. Lanternier & Cie, dating probably to the 1920s–1930s.
The service consists of 18 plates:
• 12 large flat plates – diameter approx. 24.5 cm
• 6 small flat plates – diameter approx. 21.5 cm
Very pretty polychrome floral decoration composed of small flowers in shades of yellow, purple, blue, pink and orange, linked by delicate foliate stems.
The rims feature a scalloped and slightly serpentine edge, highlighted with gilding, giving the whole piece a great deal of charm.
The pieces bear on the reverse the stamp A. Lanternier & Cie – Limoges, a historic French manufacturer whose origins go back to 1857. Alfred Lanternier joined the family business around 1890; the manufacturer is notable in the decorative arts and received a Grand Prize at the Exposition internationale des Arts décoratifs in Paris in 1925.
Condition: good overall condition for an antique service.
Total weight of the package, including packaging: 9.990 kg.
The set will be carefully packed for transport
