Early 20th‑century wooden architectural mantel clock (figurative pendulum) by Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC) in Germany, with a mechanical movement and multi‑day power reserve, half‑hourly gong striking, dimensions 43.5 × 24 × 16 cm, weight 3614 g, includes winding key, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Interior mechanism and striking mechanism of the antique clock, where the cast-iron logo on the left reveals the official trademark of the well-known German clockmaker Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik (HAU), in English known as the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC).
Antique German architectural mantel clock (pendule) presumably from the early 20th century (Gründerzeit period, about 1880–1920), in the style of makers such as Junghans or Hamburg American Clock Co.
Features
Case: A wooden case with light wood and contrasting black (ebonized/black-stained) turned columns/pilasters, balusters and decorative finials (urn-shaped caps) on top.
Dial: A decorated wooden brass-colored dial with floral motifs and a white circle with black Roman numerals. The dial painted on wood is slightly damaged; see the photos.
Accessories: The clock comes with a matching pendulum and winding key.
The HAU/HAC Logo: The cast-iron block on the left shows two crossed arrows. This is the iconic logo of this clock factory, registered in 1900. It also serves here as the heavy mounting block (the seat) to which the mainspring gong is attached. The two figurative decorative emblems under the door are missing.
Shipped insured and well packaged.
