Description from the seller
This is a rare and exquisite yellow-glazed square vase from the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, dating from the Kangxi reign (1711-1799). This piece is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and aesthetics, with the yellow glaze and floral and bird motifs seamlessly integrated, creating a harmonious and elegant whole. Made during the Qianlong era, the vase is approximately 30 cm tall, meticulously crafted, and remarkably well-preserved. Each of the four sides features a different floral and bird design. The base is inscribed with a six-character mark: “Made in the Qianlong Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty.” The deeply embossed six characters indicate that the vase was personally inspected by the Qianlong Emperor before being inscribed; typically, a four-character mark would have been used, verified by the Director of the Imperial Household Department. The presence of the six-character mark reflects the Emperor's high regard for this work. Furthermore, yellow glaze has always been considered an extremely unique color, reserved for imperial celebrations. This piece, with its dignified and luxurious character, is exceptionally rare and truly a treasure.
