Description from the seller

Higonokami Damascus Layered Brass Knife – Original Japanese SK5 Knife – Made in Japan

Category Catawiki:
Collectible knives / Traditional Japanese knives

Description:
Elegant traditional Japanese Higonokami knife, made in Japan according to the historic artisanal tradition of the famous Japanese folders. This model features a refined “Damascus” construction with a high-hardness SK5 carbon steel blade (about HRC 60), valued for its excellent cutting ability and long edge retention.

The minimalist, functional design is typical of authentic Higonokami: manual opening via rear lever ("chikiri"), slim profile and essential lines that recall the Japanese culture of the traditional utilitarian knife.

The brass handle is adorned with inscriptions in Japanese and a terminal hole for a lanyard, a practical and characteristic detail of Japanese everyday knives. The blade presents a sleek and elegant geometry, ideal for both collecting and light use.

Authentic Japanese-made item, highly sought after by enthusiasts of Eastern cutlery, vintage-style EDC and the Higonokami tradition.
