A pair of Beaugency vases in marbled glass with gold enamel, dating to ca. 1900–1910, in the Art Deco style, made in France by François-Théodore Legras, each 25 cm high and 10 cm wide, with red marbled glass and gold detailing, in good used condition with minor wear to the gold enamel.
Description from the seller
For sale here as well as our family heritage, an exquisite, matching pair of antique Art Nouveau vases (pendants) from the glassworks of François-Théodore Legras (Saint-Denis, France, period ca. 1900–1910). It is the Beaugency model in a rare, splendid color variant.
The vases captivate with their red-marbled opaline glass imitation (Clutha glass style), where the organic nuances in the glass flow elegantly into one another. The upper part and the neck are adorned with a surrounding, hand-painted gold enamel decoration in the form of typical Art Nouveau volutes and geometrico-floral ornaments.
Notably, the excellently preserved original signature “Leg.” (abbreviation for Legras) in gold enamel on the base of both vases.
