IMPORTANT INTERNATIONAL NUMISMATIC COLLECTION
American Coins – Silver – Gold – Commemorative Coins – Historic Banknotes – Historic Stock Certificates – Philately – Special Sets - Albums and Collectible Material
For auction, a fascinating international numismatic collection is proposed, the result of research, accumulation, selection and conservation, which accompanies the collector on an authentic journey through the history of money and world paper money, from the second half of the 19th century up to the euro, with important and rare historical pieces.
The lot brings together material from many countries around the world, with a strong presence of United States coins, flanked by Russian, Portuguese, Ukrainian, San Marino and Vatican commemorative coins, as well as numerous European and world issues. An extraordinary variety of types, metals, historical eras and different monetary systems.
Among the most interesting highlights is a selection of ancient silver coins of the Kingdom of Italy and a rare 5 Dracma Greek coin from 1876 of George I; American dollars. Completing the precious metals section is a small German gold coin, preserved and presented individually with a certificate.
Particularly valuable and interesting is the presence of an album with 96 coins in high preservation (from AU58 to MS65) of the Kingdom of Italy under the sovereign Vittorio Emanuele III.
The paper component is particularly rich as well. There are numerous historic and numismatically valuable banknotes, especially German, a rare banknote of the Kingdom of Italy and iconic notes of the subsequent Republic, such as the 10000 Michelangelo, together with historic banknotes from different countries and eras.
The collection also includes numerous coins in extremely high preservation, stored individually in capsules, bimetallic coins including a tray of 40 bimetallic coins in extremely high preservation from the Republic of San Marino and the Italian Republic (all years), commemorative issues and special series.
The philatelic component is represented by a series of first day covers.
The set also includes:
• Significant presence of United States coins
• Commemorative coins, Russian, Portuguese, English, Canadian, Italian, French, Spanish, Danish, etc.
• European coins and from many other countries around the world
• Silver US dollars
• Ancient silver coins of the Kingdom of Italy
• Ancient silver Greek coins
• Small German gold coin with certificate
• Numerous coins in extremely high preservation kept in capsules
• Bimetallic and commemorative coins
• Modern and historic banknotes in high preservation
• Historic banknotes of various nations
• Stock certificates and historic financial documents
• Commemorative issues and special series
• Album containing 96 coins in AU58 / MS65 condition of the Kingdom of Italy, VE III
• Collectible numismatic and philatelic material
• Divisions, packaging and numismatic sets from different countries
• A professional Leuchtturm numismatic briefcase, complete with 6 trays and included in the lot
• Carefully preserved, selected and organized material
One of the most fascinating aspects of this collection is the constant sense of discovery it offers the observer: every tray, binder, album, case and case holds evidence of different eras, cultures and monetary systems.
The lot is therefore ideal both for the collector seeking new specimens to study, classify and catalog, and for the trader who wants to acquire, in a single solution, material that is extremely diversified with interesting valorizational prospects.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and show the material offered.
A rare opportunity to acquire, in a single solution, a broad, varied collection rich in historical charm, capable of telling over a century of international monetary history.
A journey through the history of money, finance and world collecting.
Many items deserve a close examination and could hold interesting surprises for the most attentive collectors.
Happy auction and good luck to all participants!
