Description from the seller
The Ngbaka steel knife, originating from the Congo (DRC), is a traditional artisanal weapon used by the Ngbaka community. Hand-forged in steel, it historically served for hunting, defense, and in certain ritual practices. Its shape, balance, and the precision of its manufacture attest to the technical craftsmanship and ingenuity of Ngbaka artisans, as well as the importance of this tool in daily life and culture.
It also fits within a contemporary perspective, where it is valued for its functional aesthetics and historical value. A sought-after collecting object, it can be displayed in African art galleries or integrated into interiors that showcase unique artisanal and cultural pieces. Its presence adds a dimension that is both decorative and ethnographic, while reflecting the technical and cultural heritage of the Ngbaka.
