AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Refined pair of winged cherubic putti carved in wood and gilded with gold leaf, dating to the 17th-18th century. The elements stand out for excellent craftsmanship: entirely hand-carved in solid wood, they show well-defined details in the expressiveness of the faces and in the plumage of the wings. Unlike classic models with painted flesh, this pair features precious gilding on a gypsum ground, characterized by a warm antique patina. On the back there are hooks for wall mounting. Provenance from a private collection.

- Gilding: It is gold leaf gilding on gypsum preparation (with bolo visible at the points of use).

Condition: The objects are presented in very good condition and with great structural solidity. Despite the age (over 200 years), the wooden structure is perfectly compact, stable and free of loose parts or sagging.

In surface there are the natural signs of time that attest to authenticity: wear of the gilding with the red bolo showing through, superficial cracks in the wood and old termite holes entirely inactive.
