Antique Italian alabaster centerpiece (Napoleone III style) dating to 1850–1900, with a 20 x 20 cm base and weighing 1,745 g, in very good condition with minor signs of wear and aging.
Description from the seller
Refined centerpiece stand (Cup) in fine Italian alabaster, entirely hand-carved and hand-tooled in the late 19th century. This elegant work of art stands out for its classical, harmonious proportions (20 x 20 cm) and for the extraordinary natural luster and translucence typical of the finest Tuscan alabaster of the period. With a solid weight of 1745 grams, the piece testifies to the stone’s excellent density and quality.
The upper bowl features a complex and rich openwork carving with foliate motifs reproducing sinuously detailed grape leaves. The central column is characterized by a splendid spiraled line. As visible from the underside images, the piece was made using the traditional period technique with distinct elements (stalk and foot).
The piece presents in excellent aesthetic and structural condition. The stone retains its beautiful original patina of the era.
As is normal for alabaster artifacts of more than a century in age, there may be very slight signs of wear or microscopic nibbles at the tips of the leaves, which do not compromise its aesthetics but attest to its authenticity and age.
A collectible piece with great decorative impact, perfect as a centerpiece or interior decor element for exclusive interiors. The photos are an integral part of the description and show the object from every angle, including the construction technique visible under the base. Professionally traced shipping and ultra-protective customized packaging guaranteed.
