Description from the seller
2 × a Technics EPC-P24 T4P (P-mount) turntable cartridge with stylus
This type is a moving-magnet (MM) cartridge with a distinctive orange transparent housing and a T4P plug-in connection that fits a range of vintage turntables. [1, 2]
They are compatible with the following brands and model lines:
1. Technics (Original factory-mounted)
Technics designed the T4P standard themselves at the time. Almost every Technics turntable from the 1980s and 1990s with a straight or tangential arm (linear tracker) used this cartridge. The best-known models are: [1, 2]
* SL-BD series: including the immensely popular Technics SL-BD20, SL-BD21, and SL-BD22.
* SL-DD / SL-QD series: such as the SL-DD20 and SL-QD33 (Direct Drive variants).
* Tangential / Case models: including the SL-5, SL-6, SL-10, SL-DL5, SL-L20, and the rare vertical SL-V5. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
2. Other brands with T4P / P-mount arms
Because T4P was a licensed standard at the time, many other major brands from that period also produced turntables with the same plug-in system. This cartridge also fits directly on specific models from:
* Sony: Models from the PS-LX series (e.g., PS-LX300H, PS-LX520).
* Pioneer: Models from the PL series with T4P (e.g., PL-445, PL-570).
* Marantz: Models such as the TT-185 and TT-430.
* Philips / Grundig: Specific vintage mid-fi systems from the late 1980s (such as the Grundig PS 2750 / PS 4200).
* Sanyo / JVC: Various linear and automatic players (such as the Sanyo TP-226 or JVC LE22). [1, 2]
How can you tell if it fits?
If a turntable’s tonearm at the end does not have a wide headshell with two screws, but a narrow plug-in arm into which you slide the cartridge and secure it with one horizontal screw on the side, then it is a T4P arm and you can use this cartridge.
