A detachable veterinary anatomical model of a cow’s udder, likely produced in Sonneberg (RDA) in the mid-20th century, made of composite with a metal base, in good condition with wear from age.
Description from the seller
Veterinary Anatomical Model, Removable – Cow Udder – Sonneberg (GDR) - 1930
Important pedagogical veterinary anatomical model representing the cow’s udder, presented on its original oval base with a metal rod.
The model is fully removable into several elements allowing step-by-step study of the internal structure of the udder. The various sections notably show the udder lobes, glandular tissues, teats, vascular and lymphatic network, as well as the main internal structures related to lactation. The anatomical elements are numbered for educational use.
Polychrome realization highly detailed, characteristic of large models intended for veterinary teaching in the second half of the 20th century.
The base bears the old handwritten inventory number “IG 13-03-012.” This number evidently belongs to the same inventory series as the other veterinary models from this collection.
No manufacturer label is currently present. In design and workmanship, the model is very close to German Sonneberg educational productions, notably those of the VEB Anatomisches Lehrmittelwerk Sonneberg (GDR), though no formal attribution can be asserted in the absence of a mark.
Period: second half of the 20th century
Origin: Germany / GDR
Materials: multicolored composite/plastic, metal and painted base
Good overall condition of use. Signs of use, wear and small alterations visible in the photographs.
A beautiful old scientific veterinary model, of interest both for a medical/pedagogical object collection and for a curiosity cabinet.
Total height: 32 cm.
An imposing and spectacular old scientific and veterinary object, today particularly interesting for a collection of anatomical models, medical equipment or a curiosity cabinet.
The photos are an integral part of the object description and complement its presentation. Please study them carefully before any commitment.
The object will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
