AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful antique silver chatelaine powder box pendant from the late 19th century or around the turn of the century by the renowned French silversmith Prudent Quitte.

Prudent Quitte registered his master mark in 1882 and was based at 42 Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth in Paris. He was active in the Art Nouveau period (late 19th and early 20th centuries) and was known for his exceptionally refined silverware, including luxury travel accessories, coin holders (porte-louis) and powder boxes such as this chatelaine powder box pendant.

This type of luxury accessory was worn by ladies on a chatelaine (a decorative belt hook) or as a large pendant medallion on a chain. The pendant is decorated with a detailed repoussé relief of stars, floral garlands and foliate scrolls.

Inside there is an intact mirror and a compartment for compact powder.

Equipped with the silver mark “Tête de Sanglier” and master mark P - Revolver -Q.

Very unique piece!

Diameter of the pendant is 4.5 cm.
Weight is 19.25 grams.

After decades of careful collecting I have decided to part with (part of) my collection. I wish these special objects a place with a new admirer who understands the value of historic preservation. It is time these pieces receive the attention they deserve, so they may be preserved for the distant future.

I guarantee extremely careful packaging and insured shipping.
