E. SIEGL - Sculpture, "Sluipende leeuwin" - lengte 29 cm - 14 cm - Ceramic

Expressive Art Deco crackle glaze sculpture of a hunting lioness stalking a rocky terrain.
Notably the menacing depiction of the head and forepaw and the refined openwork of the hind leg and the tail.
The craquelures are fine and uniform, indicating good craftsmanship.
The sculpture dates from the interwar period (the 1920s/1930s) and was made in France.
It is signed with E.Siegl on the pedestal.

The sculpture is in very good condition. No restorations, cracks or damaged pedestal which is common with this type of sculpture. Some small imperfections on the hind leg (see first photo).
