Leerdam - Vase - Glass - Leerdam vase 2005

Ondra Novotny is a scion of the famous Novotny family in Novy Bor, Czech Republic. He worked among others in the glass studios of Leon Applebaum in New York. After a few years, Ondra returned to his home base in the Czech Republic where he works for the internationally renowned Ajeto. Every year, Ondra spends a few weeks in the glassblowing studio in Leerdam.

This concerns Ondra (Ondřej) Novotný (born in 1984), son of the legendary master glassblower Petr Novotný.
Ondra already followed in his father's footsteps at a young age. He worked from the early 2000s annually for several weeks as a guest glassblower in the glassblowing studio in Leerdam, where he produced many unique pieces (unica).

Early period: In 2005 Ondra was around 21 years old and already very skilled. Vases from this early period in Leerdam already show his distinctive style: clean, minimalist forms combined with bright, striking colors.
Generational transition: Today Ondra heads the famous glass studio Novotný Glass in the Czech Republic and has himself grown into an established international master glassblower.
