AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
MINOLTA Hi-Matic F, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Minolta Hi-Matic F of 1972 compressed the rangefinder experience of the celebrated Hi-Matic 7 series into a genuinely pocketable body. Its sharp Rokkor 38mm f/2.7 lens is paired with an electronically controlled Seiko shutter that runs stepless from 4 full seconds to 1/724 — remarkably long exposures for so small a camera — while a true coupled rangefinder keeps focusing precise in any light. Aimed at photographers who wanted Minolta quality without bulk, the Hi-Matic F remains a favourite compact rangefinder for night and available-light shooting on film today.
Important — please read carefully:
Automatic exposure runs about 2.5-3 stops under (underexposure). Please review the description and photos before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens: Clear, no issues
Viewfinder: Cleaned inside; rangefinder image OK
Functional
The shutter and rangefinder work.
Light seals replaced and viewfinder interior cleaned.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 2.5 UNDER / EV15: 3.1 UNDER
Some of these deviations exceed what negative film can absorb — please read the Known Issues section and allow for them when shooting.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
Known Issues
1. Automatic exposure runs about 2.5-3 stops under (EV12 -2.5 / EV15 -3.1), so pictures will come out underexposed; manual adjustment or a separate meter is recommended.
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
Important Notes for Used Items
As this is a used item, subtle imperfections may exist that are not individually described.
