Description from the seller

Very large (almost 20 cm) protobiface with a reserved base from the early Acheulean, a typical tool of H. Erectus that lived there. These tools are regarded as transitional pieces between the earlier choppers/chopping tools and the fully edge-flaked hand axes. Characteristic is the retention of a large part of the cortex and, with minimal flakes, still aiming for a pointed form. These protobifaces are not common in large assemblages. Made from chert/flint. Originating from Western Sahara, Seguiet el Hamra.

Little to no wear and in excellent condition. See photos.
