Description from the seller

Antique hunting cane with a deer antler handle and bone collar

Central Europe (Germany, Austria), approx. 1900–1930

Antique walking stick in hunting style (Jagdstock). The handle is made from a natural antler with the typical pearl edge (rose stock) at the top and a beautifully patinated, roughly polished surface. Under the antler sits a bone collar with three dark metal bands (tarnished brass) and a row of inlaid dots. The shaft is of warm honey-brown wood, probably Malacca (rattan), with a nice natural sheen and a visible node structure. The cane has a black ferrule made of horn or rubber.

Good, original condition with a natural patina from use. The antler has a warm, deep color and the top (the polished upper side of the rose) shows light wear and scratches. There is no visible break or repair. The shaft is straight and shows light wear.

Dimensions:
approx. 92.5 cm L
approx. 18.5 cm W
approx. 5.5 cm D

Will be well packed and insured for shipping.
