MAOF lamp, model 520 C, finished in gold antique tone, Spanish design by Luis Perez de la Oliva, metal shade with a gold-painted swivel, chrome arm, 60 cm depth, 30 cm width, 40 cm height, 7.5 kg, in working order, circa 1960–1970, good used condition with minor signs of aging; original switch in the shade does not work, cable switch fitted.
Description from the seller
MAOF lamp, model 520 C, in gold or "old gold". This 520c) version is a variant that is very hard to obtain. The chrome arm does not end on top of the base, as in the normal version. This edition, in which the arm ends at the end of the base, is truly strange.
The Spanish company FASE had financial problems in the 1980s, ceased activity, and sold its manufacturing license to the German company MaOf which, slightly varying the original designs, continued to manufacture the FASE models under license.
Metal shade with a gold-painted rotula (swivel) for its orientation, which allows light to be varied in different positions, shortening or lengthening the lamp. Chrome-plated steel arm. Functioning correctly. The original switch on the head of the shade does not work and, instead, a switch was placed on the cable.
It is a lamp in very good condition of preservation. The original glass diffuser is in good condition. It is a piece over 50 years old and, therefore, shows signs of the passage of time that are evident in the photos: it has a small stain on the base. Please review the photographs carefully because they form part of the product description.
The Fase 520c is an icon of Spanish industrial design from the 1960s and 1970s not only due to its indisputable aesthetic beauty but also because it has been used countless times by art directors in the world of cinema, as 'props' for numerous Spanish and international films: it is the desk lamp of the mayors Ruth Jahns and Bernard Holland in the series "Silo", it has appeared in Dr. House, Ragnarok, Money Heist, Midsomer Murders, etc…
Shipments outside the EU may incur additional customs charges.
