antique crucified Christ – Carved and polychromed wood – Textile garment – 30 × 23 cm
Description
Antique figure of Christ crucified, probably made in carved and polychromed wood.
The figure represents Jesus Christ with arms outstretched, crown of thorns and different details of the Passion painted by hand. Notably the original textile garment covering the lower part of the body, decorated with trim, embroidery and abundant gilded fringe.
The polychromy shows natural tones, with red details representing the wounds, hair and beard in dark tones and the polychromed crown of thorns.
On the back the metallic element used for its attachment is preserved. It also has holes in the hands and feet corresponding to its original mounting on a cross, which is not included.
Approximate measurements: 30 × 23 cm.
Old condition, with signs of use, wear, small losses of polychromy, dirt and marks typical of its age. The textile shows wear. Please see the photographs carefully, which form part of the description.
No recent restoration has been carried out.
It will be carefully packed and protected to ensure its safe delivery.
