Antique French ink pot of Baccarat crystal.
The square ink pot with a large knob as a lid is made in the popular Baccarat motif 'Bambous tors' (twisted bamboo) and is certainly a boon for the desk.
It features a hinged collar of silvered metal. Inside lies the original glass ink pot.
The base is finished with a star-shaped cut motif (24-point). The piece is unsigned and dates from before the introduction of the etched Baccarat logo in the glass in 1936. The famous crystal factory used paper labels between 1860 and 1936, which often got lost or detached.
The object is in antique condition, with normal signs of use appropriate to its age. On one of the corners at the bottom of the ink pot and on the rim of the small glass pot there is a chip.
