Willem Hagoort – Vintage modernistische wandlamp – Nederland, jaren 60 - Wall lamp - Wood, Metal - Mid-Century wall lamp

Willem Hagoort – Vintage Modernist Wall Lamp – Netherlands, the 1960s

A beautiful example of Dutch design from the sixties! This distinctive wall lamp, designed and produced by Willem Hagoort for Hagoort Lamps, blends warm wood tones with an elegant, white-lacquered metal light shade. A design in which simplicity, geometry, and functionality come together in a beautifully balanced way.

The lamp immediately stands out with its characteristic triangular wooden wall bracket, showcasing the rich wood grain. Resting against it is a wide, gracefully rising metal shade. The contrast between the warm wood and the soft white gives the lamp a particularly stylish Mid-Century Modern appearance.

The open top allows the light to spread upward beautifully and create warm, indirect ambient lighting along the wall. Even when the lamp is turned off, it remains a decorative object on the wall.

About Willem Hagoort

Willem Hagoort (1900–1973) was a Dutch entrepreneur and lighting designer from Rotterdam. His company Hagoort Lamps grew into a well-known name within the Dutch lighting world.

In the sixties, the collection included modernist ceiling lights, wall lamps, and floor lamps, with a focus on functionality and contemporary form.

This model is a fine example of the Dutch postwar design tradition, where natural materials and clean geometric shapes reinforce each other.

A particularly evocative lamp for lovers of Dutch Design, vintage lighting, and Mid-Century Modern interiors.
