This hand-knotted Oriental rug from Pakistan features a classic Keshan design. The dark blue inner field is dominated by a large, intricately worked central medallion in gold-brown, cream, and light blue. Numerous blossoms, palmettes, and flowing vines symmetrically fill the field.

Decorative corner ornaments and a wide floral main border harmoniously frame the detailed composition. The contrasting color palette of dark blue, gold-brown, cream, green, and old rose gives the rug an elegant and expressive effect.
