Important Bronze Statue of Welcoming Jesus Christ – Fracaro Art Foundry (Vicenza) – H 120 cm – Mid 20th Century
Splendid and imposing sculpture entirely made in precious dark patina bronze, depicting Jesus Christ in a solemn welcoming pose, with arms open and gaze directed upward, as a sign of blessing and protection.
The work was cast by the famous and excellent Fracaro Arte Foundry of Vicenza, active since 1949 and internationally renowned for mastery in monumental bronze casting and sacred art.
The sculpture stands out for the excellent plastic rendering of the metal and the strong dynamism of the drapery of the garment. The meticulous anatomical care of the hands and the intense expressiveness of the face attest to the high level of execution and the skilled craftsmanship typical of the Vicentine foundry in bronze work. The statue presents ideal dimensions and proportions both as a prestigious interior art piece (large halls, private collections) and for outdoor placement (family chapels, devotional parks or gardens), thanks to the very high resistance of bronze to weathering.
