The Contax RTS III (1990) was Kyocera’s flagship professional 35mm SLR for the Contax/Yashica mount, famous for its unique Real Time Vacuum system that holds the film perfectly flat against a ceramic pressure plate for maximum sharpness. It offers a ceramic-bladed shutter to 1/8000 s, spot and TTL metering and a built-in motor drive. It is offered here with the Carl Zeiss S-Planar 60mm f/2.8 T*, a macro lens optimised for close-range work that is equally at home as a sharp short standard lens.

Important — please read carefully:
The viewfinder display is dim and the finder has some fungus; the lens has specks in the rear group (dust or early balsam separation). The camera works properly. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.

Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.

Optical Condition
Finder: Some fungus in the viewfinder, and the backlit viewfinder display has become dim. Cleaned internally.
Lens: S-Planar 60mm f/2.8: many small specks on the rear group — either dust inside or the beginning of balsam separation. See photos.

Functional
Power, light meter, shutter and motor drive work. Measured: 1 s = 1 s, 1/60 = 1/64, 1/1000 = 1/1070.
The battery compartment has been polished clean.
The viewfinder has been cleaned internally.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/1 s (on the mark)
- 1/60 — measured 1/64 s (approx. 0.1 stop fast)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/1070 s (approx. 0.1 stop fast)
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.

Known Issues
1. The backlit information display in the viewfinder is dim.
2. Some fungus in the viewfinder.
3. Many small specks in the rear group of the lens — dust or early balsam separation. Expect some loss of contrast against strong light.

Shipping
We ship via either FedEx or Japan Post (ePacket), whichever suits the destination and the parcel. With Japan Post your package is handed over to the local postal carrier in your country for final delivery.
