Fraraccio "Sfilato Caccia" Small – 12 and 16 Gauge Cartridge Extractors – Black ABS – 420 INOX
Category Catawiki
Collector knives – Italian traditional knives – Artisan cutlery from Frosolone
Description
This elegant and rare Fraraccio Sfilato Caccia in a compact version is offered at auction. It was handmade in the early 2000s by Michele Fraraccio, belonging to one of the most prestigious families of Frosolone’s knife-making tradition.
The Sfilato Caccia is one of the most representative models of Molisan and Italian traditional cutlery. It originated as a practical pocket knife for hunters and lovers of outdoor life and has over time become a symbol of rural culture in Central-Southern Italy.
This specimen preserves all the typical characteristics of the traditional model: elegant brass guard, slender blade, and above all the classic cartridge extractors for calibers 12 and 16, a distinctive feature of true Italian hunting knives.
The handle is made of glossy black ABS, a material widely used in Fraraccio productions from the early 2000s for its durability and longevity. The blade is made of 420 INOX steel, resistant to corrosion and ideal for practical use as well as for collection.
Although conceived as a hunting knife, the Sfilato Caccia has for generations also been an indispensable companion for moments of outdoor conviviality, used during countryside meals, hikes, rural celebrations, and gatherings with friends. This dual hunting and social spirit has made it popular with several generations of enthusiasts.
An elegant, authentic knife strongly linked to Italian tradition.
