The surface is crossed by green and black concentric bands, outlining elliptical and circular patterns with a hypnotic aesthetic, typical of this extraordinary stone. The main design, broad and centered, resembles a fossilized “eye,” a symbol of ancient forms of bacterial life. This type of structure is due to the presence of fossilized stromatolites, formed about 3 billion years ago. These are traces left by colonies of cyanobacteria, among the oldest known photosynthetic organisms, whose activity contributed to the formation of Earth’s primitive atmosphere.
