Lot Description
Description:
In an auction, one of the most beloved and fascinating vintage collectible cards from the Wizards of the Coast (WotC) era: Squirtle (132/165) in its splendid and highly sought-after Reverse Holographic version (Reverse Holo). This card comes from the legendary Expedition Base Set expansion released in 2002, the very first set to introduce e-Card technology. The card features the typical widened borders with bands containing barcodes, designed at the time to be scanned with the Nintendo e-Reader accessory for the Game Boy Advance.
The artwork, beautifully crafted by illustrator Kyoko Umemoto, shows the iconic Water-type starter Pokémon Squirtle, immersed in a nighttime setting and stylized with a strong Japanese artistic flavor. The Reverse Holo version of this set is distinguished by a full-card holography pattern that is extremely reflective and exceptionally rich in live rainbow hues.
Conditions: The card presents in Near Mint condition. Note the sharpness and clarity of our images and of our valuations relative to images from other platforms ;)
