Flip clock, Electromagnetic Clock, Impulse execution - Solari di Udine - Industrial - Iron - 1950-1960 - Cipher 5

The Cifra 5 was made by Solari di Udine in Italy. The design is credited to Gino Valle, with the assistance of Nani Valle, John Myer and Michele Provinciali. Remigio Solari developed the mechanism. Development began in 1954; in 1956 the clock received the Compasso d’Oro.

Notable about this clock:

- Vertically flipping digits: the discs rotate like pages of a book. This differs from the horizontal flaps of many later flip clocks.
