Six-piece Baccarat Diamants Pierreries vanity set in clear crystal from France, dating ca. 1900–1920, comprising a perfume sprayer, two perfume bottles with crystal stoppers, a vanity glass, a crystal soap dish with handles, and a vanity box with lid; one bottle has defects.
Description from the seller
Antique Baccarat vanity set «Diamants Pierreries» – 6 pieces
Ancient vanity set made by the prestigious French manufacturer Baccarat, belonging to the classic model «Diamants Pierreries», dating from the early 20th century, around 1900–1920.
The set is made of clear, very thick crystal and features a rich geometric decoration characteristic of the model. The entire surface is worked with diamond-point motifs (pointes de diamant) combined with large circular facets that evoke precious stones (pierreries). This combination creates a magnificent play of reflections and flashes when hit by light.
The stoppers, the lid, and the different containers maintain the same decorative pattern, creating a visually homogeneous and elegant set, representative of French luxury vanity items from the early 20th century.
The set consists of six pieces: a large perfume spray bottle, two perfume bottles with crystal stoppers, a dressing glass, a crystal soap dish/tray with handles, and a vanity box with a lid.
One of the pieces bears the old molded mark «BACCARAT DÉPOSÉ», an important element that identifies its Baccarat manufacture. This type of old marking differs from the well-known circular etched seal «BACCARAT FRANCE» used in later times.
The uniformity of the design, facets, and decoration across the six pieces gives the set a special decorative and collectible appeal. It is especially attractive to collectors of antique Baccarat, French crystal, perfume bottles, and period vanity items.
