Sectioned Geode with Precious Macrocrystallization — Grande Geode di Ametista Viola – Natural Section on a Sculpted Cementitious Base. An important natural section of first-rate amethyst geode, characterized by well-developed, compact crystals in a deep, saturated violet color. The druse displays mature points with sharp terminations and glossy surfaces, with hues ranging from deep purple to lighter violet along the peripheral zones. The high chromatic concentration is indicative of excellent mineral quality and slow growth in a basaltic environment, where silica-rich solutions and traces of iron allowed the formation of amethyst quartz under stable, prolonged conditions. The crystal surface shows a marked vitreous luster and a sparkling effect clearly visible under direct light. The edge of the section preserves the natural transition between the inner quartz belt and the outer matrix, keeping legible the original morphology of the cavity. The specimen has been stabilized and integrated on a sculpted cementitious base, designed to ensure structural solidity and proper weight distribution. The base, deliberately tactile and irregular, creates a strong aesthetic contrast with the brilliance of the crystals and gives the piece a significant dramatic presence. In terms of size and structure, the piece can also be used as a sculptural decorative element; with the installation of a custom glass panel it can be transformed into a decorative coffee table while keeping the crystal surface fully visible.
