Kinamo brand, model Kinamo; functional condition not tested; a rare 1923 ICA Kinamo 35mm film camera with Carl Zeiss Jena lens, matching serials 61629 and 571029, complete with original removable internal daylight film cassette and brown leather case.
Description from the seller
A stunning and extremely rare Ica Kinamo 35mm film camera from the year 1923. This iconic piece of early film history was designed by the legendary Dr. Emanuel Goldberg and produced by Internationale Camera Aktiengesellschaft (ICA) in Dresden, even before the founding of Zeiss Ikon.
This particular example is in an exceptionally beautiful, original collector's condition. The body (serial number 61629) is equipped with the high-quality Carl Zeiss Jena lens (serial number 571029), which, according to the historical Zeiss archives, was produced exactly in the second half of 1923. A perfect matching set from the same year of manufacture!
Condition and operation:
• Cosmetic: In very neat condition. The original black crackle finish is still wonderfully intact with only minimal signs of aging.
• Mechanical: Not tested with film, but all mechanisms operate very smoothly. The film advance lever turns smoothly, and both the focus ring and the diaphragm move smoothly and fluidly.
• Optical: The Carl Zeiss lens is clean and clear, with no scratches or visible fungus.
Completeness: Uniquely, the often-missing original removable internal daylight film cassette (drum) and the original sturdy brown leather equipment bag with purple velvet interior and strap are present. The leather equipment bag features the original deep-pressed factory logo "Ica Akt.-Ges. Dresden" on the back.
A brilliant and complete top piece for the serious collector of antique cinematography!
Carefully packed and insured shipment.
