Egyptian Late Period shabti in blue‑green glazed ceramic with a dorsal hieroglyphic inscription column, standing 12.4 cm high, authentic original and in very good condition, with crossed arms holding a pair of hoes and a grain sack on the back, provenance including France and previously from a private collection.
Description from the seller
Oushebti / Shabti in ceramic with a blue-green glaze and a column of relief hieroglyphic inscription on the back. Mummiform figurine, wearing a tripartite wig. The arms are modeled, crossed on the chest, the hands hold a pair of hoes. At the back, a bag of grain on the back with hatch marks. The rest of the body is covered with relief hieroglyphs.
The statuette features a ventral inscription and a dorsal inscription carved in relief hieroglyphs of an excerpt from Chapter VI of the Book of the Dead.
Ancient Egypt, Late Period, 26th–31st Dynasties, 664 to 332 BCE.
Height 12.4 cm - Very good condition - no restoration
Displayed on an elegant black metal support.
Previously: Former private collection Maxime Legrand (1854 - 1924), archaeologist, author of numerous works on archaeology.
Piece examined by Maxime Lebeurrier, archaeologist, expert at the National Chamber of Experts Specialized in Arts and Collectibles, member of the European Confederation of Art Experts.
