Description from the seller

This exceptional natural ammolite from Alberta, Canada displays an unusually intense and broad play of color. The preserved fossil shell layer glows, depending on the viewing angle, in vivid green, turquoise, blue and violet, complemented by yellow to golden accents.

What is especially appealing is the piece’s original character. The iridescent ammolite layer is still in close contact with the fossil ammonite and its original rock matrix. Visible fracture lines and differently preserved shell portions segment the color display into individual fields, producing the characteristic, almost mosaic-like pattern.

Ammolite is among the rarest organic jewelry and collectible stones in the world. The most important and highest-quality deposits are in the Bearpaw Formation in southern Alberta, whose fossil ammonites are famous for their exceptionally intense iridescence. In particular, the clearly pronounced blue, turquoise and violet tones make this piece visually very attractive.

Metaphysically, ammolite is associated with life force, change, prosperity and positive energy. Its multi-layered color play is regarded as a symbol of harmony and renewal.

An expressive fossil in which the original ammonite structure and the intense color play of the ammolite are impressively intertwined.
