S. Hiekisch-Picard - Ren Rong [Signed] - 1999

Picture book Ren Rong by S. Hiekisch-Picard, published in 1999 by Wienand, large-format, hardcover, signed by the artist in 1999, 200 pages, in very good condition.

Internationally known is Ren Rong for his plant-people. As steel or iron sculpture, glossy or rust-red, woodcut or papercut, watercolor or print, wood-, wax- or lacquer-work, the abstract-concrete hybrids stand for a variety of statements on the theme of human life. In combination with private photographs and images of well-known politicians (e.g. Mao Zedong), the work takes on a reference to contemporary society.
