This extraordinary Black Opal impresses with a deep, dark blue to almost black body tone, which forms an exceptionally strong contrast to its vivid and expansive play-of-color. Across the entire curved surface, an intense display of color from glowing neon green, vivid red, fiery orange, electric blue, and individual yellowish color accents is distributed, with the combination of green and red creating an enormous visual impact. In the first view a broad, nearly flat green color play dominates, streaking like a luminous light flow through the dark opal body and being interrupted by individual red and orange color fields. Particularly fascinating is the way the colors do not appear simply as point-like spots, but are distributed over the surface in interconnected, organically seeming structures. In the second view the appearance changes noticeably: beside intense green, strong red and orange color flashes now emerge, which together with the blue areas create an exceptionally lively and almost three-dimensional pattern. It is precisely this strong alternation that makes the stone especially interesting, because even a small change in viewing angle can cause individual color areas to disappear and others to glow intensely. The highly glossy polish further intensifies the color depth and lets the light glide across the surface, giving the opal remarkable optical dynamics. Notably the extraordinarily intense neon green, which at several points appears almost closed off and thus creates a very strong contrast to the dark base body. At the same time the red and orange areas produce a veritable fire that appears between the green and blue color fields. The fine blue and turquoise accents complement the color spectrum and give the stone additional depth. Due to its rounded, curved, carefully polished form, this specimen is excellent as a high-quality collectible and an extraordinary display piece. The combination of dark body, high color saturation, strong contrast, and a particularly varied color change makes this Black Opal an expressive and visually exceptional natural stone.
